Towards Sweden!
Today I left Norway behind and went over to Sweden. The weather has remained stable as usual lately, which means rain, rain...and more rain. The menacing clouds lay heavy over the mountains all the way and the rain has poured down.
I had set a course for Gäddede and since diesel is SEK 5-6 more expensive per liter in Norway, I decided to try to reach Gäddede without refuelling. At the last Norwegian gas station the warning light had already been yellow for quite some time but with only 4-5 miles to go I took the chance. As soon as I crossed the border, the yellow light suddenly started flashing angry red, something I had never experienced before. Since I also use the Truma diesel heater to keep the car warm, I drove with an unusually light throttle and avoided wasting more fuel than necessary. Once there and with the tank full, I realized that I still had a good margin - a full 1.25 liters left in the tank 😂
Now the plan is to continue after Gäddede around “Vildmarksvägen”, a route I have been driving along several times before but which I love to drive again. There is something magical about the landscape here even though the weather was not at its best today. It was only a short stage to Camp Stora Blåsjön, where I lived before. It is a well-kept campsite with a very nice owner. I chose one of the four deluxe seats that have a great view of the Great Blue Lake, something I felt I deserved after today's gray weather.
Now I hope for better weather tomorrow.
