From Punkaharju to Oulu: 500 km through the Finnish countryside
The day has mostly been spent behind the wheel driving 500 km from Punkaharju to Oulu. The only stop on the way was a short visit to Savonlinna to see the impressive castle, Olavinlinna.
After many hours on the roads, I finally reached Oulu, where I have now parked the motorhome at a marina right by the sea.
It has not been such an exciting journey as it has mostly been flat landscape with dense forest on both sides almost the whole way. Then there is that thing with the countless speed cameras along the roads in Finland. I've never experienced anything like it, there is a lot of them. They also come without warning like we have in Sweden, which means you have to be on your guard all the time so it's quite tiring driving.
Tomorrow I hope for a little less driving and a little more experiences!
