The journey north through Finland – Autumn colors and mountain views

I've continued my journey north through Finland in my Hymer motorhome and it feels like I'm really getting closer to the wilderness now. Previously, the landscape has been quite flat, but now the mountains are starting to rise on the horizon and it feels like I'm entering something really special. Autumn is in full bloom up here with all the amazing colors. Some of the birches have even already lost their leaves, a reminder that winter is approaching.

Today I stopped for lunch at a beautiful mountain lake. It was that quiet place where everything feels timeless - just me, nature and the silence. That's what I love about traveling by motorhome, that feeling of total freedom and being one with your surroundings. Being able to stay exactly where I want, cook in my camper and enjoy the view, it gives a special kind of peace.

Now I have settled in a campsite right on the border between Finland and Norway. The river roars below and provides a peaceful atmosphere. It rained in the morning but after lunch the sky opened up and I got to enjoy 22 degrees and brilliant sunshine. Perfect fall weather.

Tomorrow will be my last day in Finland before I continue on into Norway. It feels exciting to see what awaits on the other side of the border, but for now I take in every moment here in the Finnish autumn.

More adventures await.
